Thursday 1st May 2008 - 10.30am
from outside the surgery
Up Station Road, turn right along High Street, to Duck Lane, down footpath to Woodmills, cross Station Road to Trailway , picking up footpath to Jarvis Way round perimeter of playing field. Left along Jarvis Way, right up Lower Road to Ring Street, High Street. ** Up Grove Lane, to the Knapp, take footpath across to Barrow Hill, then down Barrow Hill to start.

** For those who would prefer not to go up Grove Lane, they can ‘opt out’ at PO Corner.

Notes: Good surfaces, mostly tarmac, apart from footpath across old allotments (but this is firm underfoot). No stiles. Fairly steep up part of Grove Lane, and gentler up Station Road.


Thursday 8th May 2008 - 10.30am
from outside the surgery
Up Station Road to PO Corner, cross to proceed up Grove Lane, then left at top, to pick up footpath across old allotments to Barrow Hill, turn right to Wood Lane. Cross road and go along Wood Lane to the end. Cross A357 with care, heading back down Thornhill Road, footpath next to garage to Lower Road, cross over to Coppern Way to the footpath through to Vale Road, then through further to Jarvis Way. Left along here, to Station Road and back to start.

Notes: Incline up Grove Lane, firm under foot, mostly tarmac surfaces apart from footpath across to Barrow Hill, and verge along Thornhill Road.


Thursday 15th May 2008 - 10.30am
from outside the surgery
Up Station Road, turn right at Kelly’s Corner, along to the Market Cross, over to Gold Street, up Gold Street to the Knapp, pick up the Church Walk footpath round to Church, down to Church Hill, cross to pick up Duck Lane, along footpath to Woodmills, cross over to Jarvis Way, along to pick up footpath between houses to Vale Road, up Coppern Way to Lower Road, then back to Surgery via Ring Street.

Notes: Good surfaces No stiles. Fairly steep up part of Gold Street, and gentler up Lower Road. Short steep section down past Church.

DEPART 2.00 pm FROM OUTSIDE SURGERY (STATION ROAD)

CIRCULAR WALK, APPROX 5 MILES (2 – 2½ HRS)
AROUND STALBRIDGE, USING CROSS-FIELD PATHS AND BRIDLEWAYS

THERE WILL BE STILES & MUD

SUITABLE FOOTWEAR NEEDED

TAKE SNACK/DRINK

Meet at 10.15 am in the Library Car Park

Cars depart Car Park @ 10.30 am to HINTON ST MARY

A walk around Hinton, minor village roads and lanes and some firm field footpaths without stiles.

Thursday 29th May 2008 - 10.30am
from outside the surgery
Down Station Road, to entrance of Trailway at The Sidings, down along the full length of the Trailway, about turn and turn left at the Pumping Station, following Bridleway, then footpath round Jarvis Field Play Area, to Jarvis Road. Turn left along Jarvis Way right up Lower Road to Ring Street and High Street, back to start.

Notes: Good surfaces, mostly tarmac, apart from Trailway, but this is firm underfoot. No stiles. Gentle slope up Station Road.
