MOLE WATCH - 7 Point Checklist for Your Moles

• Is an existing mole getting larger or a new one growing??
  After puberty moles do not usually grow.
• Does your mole have a ragged outline??
  Ordinary moles usually have a smooth, regular shape.
• Does your mole have a mixture of different shades of brown and black??
  Ordinary moles may be quite a dark colour but are all one shade.
• Is it bigger than the blunt end of a pencil??
  Most normal moles are smaller than this.
• Is the mole inflamed or with a reddish edge??
  An ordinary one is not inflamed.
• Is it bleeding, oozing or crusting??
  Ordinary moles do not do this.
• Is there a change in sensation, like a mild itch??
  An ordinary mole is not usually itchy or painful.

If in any doubt about your mole show it to your doctor.
