| At some stage during the consultation it may be considered appropriate that some form of test is necessary in order to clarify your symptoms further. There are a wide variety of tests that may be arranged either straight from General Practice or alternatively via your hospital appointment.
Blood Tests
Often following a consultation the health professional you see may request some blood to be taken to be analysed at the laboratory. We have produced a form which informs you of:-

Fibre Optic Examinations
With specialised fibre optic instruments various areas of our bodies may be examined for example inside our stomach. Below is a list of the most common of these investigations and links to further information:-
X-Rays / Scans
An ordinary x-ray is a quick, easy and cheap test. It may be all that is needed to diagnose or assess various problems. However, an ordinary x-ray has limited use. More sophisticated 'contrast' x-rays, CT scans, or other imaging techniques may be needed for accurate or further assessment of certain body parts, particularly of 'soft' tissues.
