Gastroscopy (hospital based test)

A gastroscopy is a test where an operator looks into your stomach. The instrument used is an endoscope, this is a thin, flexible fibre-optic instrument that is passed through the mouth, into the oesophagus (gullet) and down into the stomach and beyond.
