The district nurse is a registered nurse with an additional specialist qualification in district nursing leading a team of staff nurses and healthcare assistants.
The team working with Stalbridge Surgery includes:-

Am I eligible for care?
You are eligible to receive help from the district nurse if you:-
- Are unable to travel to the surgery or hospital through physical or psychological illness or disability or are recovering from surgery
- Are in need of palliative care to ease symptoms
- Have undergone chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and travelling or attendance at clinic would hinder your recovery
- Need treatment which is better provided at home such as bowel care.

- Care of wounds
- Advice and treatment for continence problems
- Psychological support
- Palliative and terminal care
- Rehabilitation
- Helping people to stay at home and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions
- Health promotion
- Advice on how to obtain assistance from other agencies.
