- The team works closely with GPs, hospital doctors, district nurses and many others to help to ensure patients get the best care from the wide range of services available. Anyone affected by cancer can ask to see a nurse.
- Patients, their families, or friends can just pick up the phone and contact Cancer Care Dorset Nurses direct. Other routes are through GP's, District Nurses, CancerCare Dorset or any other health care professional.
- Once a referral is received, one of the nurses will call to make an assessment of individual needs. Arrangements can then be made for attendance at the appropriate hospice.
